Ever since I can remember, I’ve believed everyone deserves a place that’s truly theirs. Something no one can tell you what to do with. Something you get to nurture, take care of, and watch your family grow inside of.
Part of that dream is picturing the little things. What the backyard’s going to look like, and then remembering someone’s got to mow it (and it’s not going to be us, right?). How many rooms you want, and what each one’s going to become. Maybe an office, a kid’s room, or a man cave, (if my wife lets me). I know, I should keep dreaming on that one. But those daydreams are real dreams, and I want to be there for the moment they become real, and see that smile on your face when they do.
That’s why I got into mortgage lending. I wanted to be part of creating those stories and memories in people’s lives.
I work with everyone. The people who’ve had a Pinterest board saved for years and finally have the means to make it real. The people who’ve worked hard day in and day out and just want to feel at peace in a home of their own. There’s a loan built for almost every story, and you might be surprised what’s actually possible for you.
Different work, same purpose as today. I was always looking for the thing that would let me make a real difference in someone’s life, that part of me will never leave, I’m just in a different uniform now.
That’s still what gets me through the long weeks. This job isn’t always easy, some weeks mean 60 hours. But I go home able to sleep with a smile on my face, because I know what I did mattered. Not just a “hi, bye, have a nice day,” but genuinely being there for one of the most important moments in someone’s life.
I’ve lived all over the United States, and spent some of my best childhood years in the Dominican Republic, always laughing with my sisters. That’s where a lot of who I am comes from, my family, my sisters, my heritage. My parents taught me to treat people the way I want to be treated, to be honest, and to always do the right thing. Those aren’t just words to me, they’re what I bring into every conversation with you and your family, right up through the day you get the keys to your new home.
